The holiday blues have definitely kicked in. I've been back from the USA for about a month now and it's official, I need to live there.
Of course, while I was out there I had to do a bit of shopping (a lot of shopping). The extent of the shopping that I done was highlighted at the airport when my cases were weighed - yes I was stopped and yes I did have to take things out of the cases BUT it all managed to get home, yay! There were A LOT of products out there that were ridiculously cheaper than back here in the UK. It's surprising to see how much more overpriced it is in the UK compared to the US. Don't get me wrong, not everything was cheaper and in some occasions it worked out to be slightly more expensive.

The reasons this blog post is titled Part One is because I managed to take these pictures with the amazing background of the swimming pool but everything else that I bought I completely forgot to photograph whilst I was out there *slaps hand*. But still, there's Part Two to look forward to right!? I do realise that there's a Yankee Candle bag in the first picture but there's no candles etc shown above, I have absolutely no idea where those pictures disappeared too.

Prices:

  • Victoria's Secret Fragrance Mist - Pure Seduction $14.00
  • Victoria's Secret Fragrance Mist - Pure Daydream $14.00
  • Victoria's Secret Fragrance Mist - Aqua Kiss $14.00
  • Victoria's Secret Hydrating Body Lotion - Coconut Passion $14.00
  • Victoria's Secret Hydrating Body Lotion - Sensual Blush $14.00
So, all those Victoria's Secret products should total $70 but they were doing an offer which was 5 products for $30 making them $6 each BUT I had a coupon for $10 off making it a total of $20! Meaning I got each product for $4 each which is around £2.50. There is no way we would ever get Victoria's Secret products in the UK for £2.50 each - major bargain!
  • Bath & Body Works Anti-Bacterial Hand Gel - Japanese Cherry $1.75
  • Bath & Body Works Anti-Bacterial Hand Gel - Vanilla Sorbet $1.75
  • Bath & Body Works Anti-Bacterial Hand Gel - Golden Apricot $1.75
  • Bath & Body Works Anti-Bacterial Hand Gel - Golden Autumn Citrus $1.75
  • Bath & Body Works Anti-Bacterial Hand Gel - Warm Vanilla Sugar $1.75
  • Bath & Body Works 3 Wick Candle - Limoncello $22.50
Another bargain I managed to find were the Anti-Bacterial Hand Gels which were 5 for $5 so I decided to pick up 5 due to the fact we can't get them in the UK. So far I am impressed with them.
The big bargain was the 3 Wick Candle that was priced at $22.50. I had a coupon to get one for half price so I should have paid $11.25, however, the person who served me obviously misunderstood what I said as I got it for FREE. My accent must have sounded as though I had a coupon for a 'FREE' wick candle instead of a 'Three Wick Candle' but hey, who's going to complain about that!? The Limoncello candle scent reminds me of Lemon Ice that you buy from the Ice Cream man, smells delicious!

With the other products, unfortunately I don't have the receipts to check prices but I can roughly remember some. The EOS lip balms were no more than $3 each, some of them I think I even got for under $2.  I saw these in a shop the other day and they were priced at £6 which just shows how much more expensive it is to get them in the UK. The NYX products were quite a bit cheaper over in the US although the exact prices I can't remember. If I remember correctly, the NYX Lip Cream & Butter Glosses converted price wise to around £3? But I honestly can't remember. NYX is a brand that is becoming more available in the UK, so if I like any products I try I can still get them, even if they are more expensive.

I love every single product that I managed to get in the US and I can't wait to go back again!

Have any of you been to the US?

  2. I wish we had it all over here too, especially Bath & Body works! I went a bit crazy but definitely still could've spent more! I don't think I would have got it all home considering I was told to rearrange my suitcases on the way back!

They have some amazing products out there, hopefully you get to go over there soon.
